any of you have confessed to me that you stalk my blog, and I always say, "well, you aren't the only one." Some of you read that to mean I have a lot of other stalkers on my site, and while this may be moderately true, it is not the full truth of that statement. I identify with you. I am obsessed as well. Every time I open a new window for the internet, my iGoogle pops up with the feeds for 11... yes, ELEVEN!... different photographer's blogs. My heart races when I see new posts from my favorites. Many of these 11 studios are run by people I have met and know as friends (either face-to-face or just over emails), but some of these couldn't pick me out of a lineup. So, I think that officially makes me a stalker. :-)
Anyway... just thought I would share them with you (in case I am not feeding your addiction enough- or just in case you want to see what I love). So, these are in NO particular order, just alphabetical by the file name I "borrowed" from their blogs. Side note on that... You are more than welcome to take images from my blog as long as there is ALWAYS credit given where credit is due (in other words, put my name and a link back to my blog, please).
Okay, okay... enough rambling... here they are!
Alisha Clark... if I am booked, I almost always recommend her, especially if you are getting married anywhere in NY, Vermont or St. Louis. Chris and I have met her, and her Luke, who is mentioned below, and we just think she is fabulous!
Sharon Clark of Smitten Photography... I have not met her in person (although my dad & step-mom have), but we have exchanged some emails... and I expect to meet her soon. I follow her blog closely because she lives in Charlotte, NC, near where we hope to live someday, and I hope to get to know her better!
Becker... yeah, we have never met him (lives in CA), but we feel like we know him from his blog. He's been a rockstar photographer forever (like since the 90's- haha), and he is super helpful to anyone trying to get their start. He REALLY knows how to run a business.
Chris + Lynn... this is a married couple out in Vancouver, I believe. We've never met them or even seen them from afar... My husband Chris LOVES them, as do I. They do not blog enough for me, but I LOVE it when they do post! Their work is beautiful!!!!
The Image is Found... I know I am not supposed to have favorites, but I think I do. If I were getting married next year, I would HANDS DOWN book this couple, even with the travel charges from Southern California to NC (where Chris and I got married almost 3 years ago). They just seem so fun and so sincere... Every post makes me giggle or leap for joy! LOVE them!!! They often post pics of their kids, as you can see this pic of their baby son, and I just love it.
Luke Walker... Alisha's significant other. :-) He does a lot of fashion type shoots for bridal magazines, hence the runway shot below, but he is also talented with weddings themselves. He and Alisha get most of my referrals (unless the bride cannot afford me- in which case, they would not be able to afford them, so THAT would waste a girl's time)
Jessica Claire... we both love her work. She shot a portrait session for Chris and me when we were newlyweds. She is amazingly talented, and she knows how to run a business to make it a success. If you have at least 15 grand to drop for your wedding photography in Southern California, she would be a great presence at your wedding day.
Jasmine Star... I have never met her in person (she is also in So Cal), but we have emailed once or twice. She is not only a talented photographer, but an excellent writer. I LOVE reading her blog posts just as much as I love seeing her work. She is just so real with her readers, and I love that.
Whitebox Weddings... this is my new love. I have not met them... yet, but I hope to soon! They are based in Greensboro, NC, which is not my favorite place in NC, but nevertheless, they may be my favorite photographers in that state.
Adam Barnes... no relation. He is based in Lynchburg, VA, but this guy goes ALL over the East coast (a bit like me). I think he is super talented with weddings, and I hope that Chris and I can connect with him and his new bride sometime in the future. The image below is an image he took of his new wife- post-wedding bridal portrait. How awesome would that be?! Chris, you want me to squeeze into my dress so that you can do that?? ;-)
The last photographer is Ruth Rackley in Greenville, SC. Just try to borrow an image from her site and see what happens! Haha! Love it! (I managed to get her to send me the image below) Anyway, I haven't met her either, but I love her work... and also hope to meet her someday soon since we also have dreamt of living near her someday (God only knows when?!!).
So, that was a lengthy post. Hope you all found some great new blogs to get addicted to.
ongrats to Lisa & Mickey!!! They were married on Friday at The View (be prepared for cheesy music if you click on that link!) in Piermont, NY right on the Hudson River. They are our first e-harmony couple, and they could not have been cuter together! So sweet and so fun! So many congrats are in order...
This was my first wedding with Kristin as my assistant, and I think it went swimmingly well, in spite of some equipment mishaps (don't worry, Lisa & Mickey, you would never know anything happened- we stay as prepared as possible for those!). We really did have a great time, even though we got "in trouble" with the matra'd for eating some sushi without permission from him... I mean, how can a girl resist, especially after having being working for 5 hours and about 3 more until dinner. :-) Anyway... we did have a great time! Thanks so much!
the guys getting ready...
Lisa's final touches...
Wow, those eyes!
Okay, this is a lil traditional, but I know her mom will love it!
This is my favorite of Lisa. So sweet!
Ta-dah! They are married!
Not super easy shooting straight into the sun, but I am embracing flair these days!
Mickey is a ham for sure!
I was just eating up all the blooming trees down near the city! LOVE spring!! And, I love this shot.
And this one...
...and this one...
The View had a unique ceiling. Love it!
Rings in the tree...
More rings...
I loved their cake!
The infamous sushi. ;-)
Mr. & Mrs.
Lisa's parents... aren't they adorable?
This may be my favorite of Lisa & Mickey! They were great dancers!
Erin & Damon (married in July of 2006 in Saranac Lake)- they hooked us up with this wedding! So good to see them! Love these people!!
The next three are Kristin's... she's so good at the details!! (and this moment)
Â
Thanks so much, guys!! Â Slideshow will be available on Friday!
n Thursday evening, Kristin (yes, my new and fabulous assistant/studio manager!) and I met up with Larisa & Bryan for their engagement session down in Piermont, NY... we were down there for Lisa & Mickey's wedding on Friday, more on that tomorrow! Anyway, we really enjoyed this couple's company as we strolled down the cute little town streets! Larisa & Bryan will be getting married in just a few weeks in Lake George, and after this session, I just can't wait to meet everyone associated with this sweet couple.
Happy viewing!
What a neat lil chair!
Love the flair!
I know that someone (like a grandpa) might tell me that I missed this shot, but I kinda like the off cropping. What do you think?
I mean, how could you pass up dancing in front of a wall like this?
Bryan felt like he needed an empty coffee cup for this one... start collecting coins! haha!
Love the sign, love this couple!
These arches are hanging out above that butterfly chair, but I missed them the first pass-by. Glad I didn't completely miss them!
Love these colors!
Favorite shot of the shoot... Loved seeing blooming trees!! (they just don't exist in the Adirondacks)
his is a message to my current clients... Â
Our print prices have gone up today... for the first time in 3 years. All large prints (16x20 and up) are the same, but our smaller print have increased anywhere from $5 to $10 each. This price adjustment came from an internal evaluation of our time and our product prices. We realized that we were practically paying YOU to order our 4x6s and 5x7s based on the time spent in making them look fabulous and the materials we are using to package the prints.
So... the good news?! We are now offering 50% off all duplicate prints. So... if you order a 4x6, you will get your second print for half price (since we've already done so much work for the first one!). This is true for EVERY print size, even 20x30s! We also are decreasing our shipping prices since we are including packaging in your print prices. Anyway, this is just so your aunts and uncles will stop asking us to give them a discount for shipping. :-)
Currently, we do not offer any discounts for large orders (we get asked that a lot), but if you are interested in having 4x6 proof prints, we still offer those for the entire gallery. Just let us know if you are interested!
