Becky & Matt - Summer Lovin'

    A
s soon as I drove through the gate to this wonderful piece of land on Friday evening, I knew it was going to be a great e-shoot with Becky & Matt. Everything I drove by made me imagine Becky as a little girl running around with all of her cousins all summer long. What a peaceful and breathtaking place! I certainly understand why they would choose to have their wedding here. I can't wait for the big day in just a little less than 2 months! (Not JUST because of the land- Becky & Matt are also great). ;-) Happy viewing!

I know I don't usually share the "grandma" shot, but the reflections on the pond were ridiculous... I just couldn't help myself.
    dsc_03471.jpg

Speaking of ridiculous... How perfect is this spot! No wonder Matt chose this spot to propose!
    dsc_36041.jpg

Love their expressions... also love that you can see a million bugs flying around, including the bee above their head. These spots were worth being eaten alive by the bugs for sure.
    dsc_03481.jpg

    Sweet laugh...
    dsc_03771.jpg

    Sweet puppy... Lilly!
    dsc_04641.jpg

I think this my favorite of the day. I was enjoying this little drive through the wild blueberry feilds so much that I almost missed capturing it.
    dsc_37691.jpg

I knew I would love this the moment I caught it.
    dsc_04781.jpg

Loved this spot, too... a pond on either side of the road. There used to be a railroad that came straight up from New York City to this property.
    dsc_37931.jpg

Might be my second or third favorite... Love the car, the road, the water, the couple, the sun flare!
    dsc_38111.jpg

I am sure we will see some wedding day images in this spot (maybe without the pups in the background)- this is right behind Becky's parents' home.
    dsc_38651.jpg

Its too bad this couple isn't cute at all. haha!
    dsc_05311.jpg

Thanks for the ride, guys. This made for a great summer day!

    Weddings

    Rachel and Justin are married!

    I
must admit... it has taken me a few days to bounce back from all of that driving (down to Baltimore and back); the sad part is I only did half the driving! ha! Did I mention that I have the best husband ever? Well, I do. ;-)
Anyway, on to the post... Rachel & Justin are blissfully newlywed!

Chris and I were both blessed by their ceremony, even though it was quite a lengthy one; it was truly a worship service offering praise to the One that has given us the gift of marriage. We could not help but notice how much love and support this couple has surrounding them... from amazing family to great friends, they are blessed! Congratulations you guys, and happy viewing!

The best man was holding the rings captive.
    dsc_2486.jpg

A tight bridal portrait... we worked so hard to find this natural light without letting all the guests see the bride before the ceremony.
    dsc_2639.jpg

I loved how bright and cheery her colors and flowers were.
    dsc_2997.jpg

Chris grabbed this one of the best man. I just love it...
    dsc_9155.jpg

The entire wedding took place at the church... the homestead provided us with some fun backdrops for a few shots.
    dsc_3110.jpg

This may be my favorite of the day. Pure joy!
    dsc_3146.jpg

Chris grabbed this of the newlyweds right as they were walking into the tent for their reception.
    dsc_9257.jpg

Okay, just preparing you... I LOVE many of the shots we got from their first dance. I think the simple reason is because they seemed oblivious to the people around them and just totally immersed in this pivotal moment as they take their first steps in their marriage together.

    Chris' sweet shot...
    dsc_9305.jpg

This may be my second favorite shot of the day. Love it!
    dsc_3334.jpg

Classic sweet first dance moment, but I still love it.
    dsc_3344.jpg

The light during the toasts was ridiculous, making my flash look like sunlight. So, I have 2 I love during the toasts...
    dsc_3391.jpg

    dsc_3405.jpg

One last one... couldn't help but put this up of Rachel's siblings (maid of honor and brother)... Her brother was very special, and everyone there just adored him and loved on him all night. He... was really excited that they FINALLY cut the cake! :-)
    dsc_9499.jpg

    Happy honeymooning!

We actually have (somewhat of) a break this weekend. No wedding... just 2 portrait sessions. July is going to be nuts, friends. Put on your seatbelts because we have some great weddings and MANY MANY photo shoots in between. We also have some exciting news to share in the next few weeks or so...

Casey & Nat in Fells Point, MD

    C
hris and I drove all the way down to Baltimore on Friday... originally, I was supposed to fly, but well, it is a long story that I won't bore you with. I am fortunate enough to have an amazing husband that was willing to drive with me and thus have to take an extra day off of work. (Thanks, sweetie).

Anyway, once we got to Baltimore, we almost immediately turned around to head out to Fells Point to meet Casey & Nat for their engagement session. We had such a great time walking around a new scene full of character and colors with this couple! Happy viewing.

I know my clients probably think I am nuts when I tell them, "okay, head towards the 3rd blue stripe and hang out there," but I love this!
    dsc_1807.jpg

Some yummy light on a side street.
    dsc_1824.jpg

I really love this spot... also love that the tenants did not walk out on us. ha!
    dsc_1841.jpg

More yummy light and Casey thinking hard about the ice cream behind her. :-)
    dsc_2004.jpg

    Speaking of yummy... lemonade!
    dsc_2069.jpg

I really love this one... a lot.
    dsc_2129.jpg

Also love this... it just feels very sincere and calm to me.
    dsc_2143.jpg

Okay, Casey & Nat may not usually hop, skip and jump like this, but I really loved these cobblestone streets, not to mention how he is watching her instead of where he is going!
    dsc_2170.jpg

Chris joined me, so naturally, he has a great shot, too. LOVE it, sweetie!

Tomorrow... Rachel & Justin's sweet wedding.

    Weddings

Danielle and Mike - The Sagamore

    N
ow... to my images. I am not sure I can top Chris, but I sure have a few of my own faves to add to it....

Danielle & Mike really do have an amazing network of support through their family and friends. I can speak for both Chris and myself when I say that we thoroughly enjoyed every moment of this weekend. It is very obvious that this couple is not only madly in love, but they are also best friends. And, really, that makes our jobs so easy.

I am convinced that Danielle & Mike have more than some people on their side... we were anxiously following the weather forecast for days, and it kept looking grim for an outdoor ceremony. Even 3 hours before the ceremony, the forecast was calling for a 100% chance of rain and thunderstorms. Although, however, Danielle wanted to risk it and still try to do it outside. Well, it was gorgeous! Incredibly hot and humid, but beautiful! The rain didn't come until about 8pm; 3 hours after the ceremony started. You know how everyone says rain on your wedding day is good luck? Well, I think that beating a 100% chance of rain on your wedding day is the ultimate in well wishes. :-) Anyway, enough of that... Happy viewing!

    Loved the Jimmy Choo's.
    dsc_9664.jpg

My wide shots are not as cool as Chris', so here is my detail shot of her Monique Lhuillier dress. By the way, I absolutely LOVE her dress. Would've worn it myself if it were an option 3 years ago.
    dsc_9698.jpg

I really love it when the bride and groom decide to see each other before the ceremony because it gives us more time to capture them looking their best.
    dsc_0029.jpg

Danielle has one of the most stunning profiles!
    dsc_9117.jpg

I am a big fan of GREAT flowers (so much so that we spent just as much on flowers as we did on our photographer at our wedding). These were amazing.
    dsc_9123.jpg

Nice casual shot in the amazing light in the Trillium room. Remember Chris' shot? I think this was at the same moment that he got the side angle.
    dsc_9210.jpg

I really love this shot, a lot!
    dsc_9227.jpg

    So gorgeous!
    dsc_9436.jpg

The flower girl needed a little help down the long aisle... oops, she dropped a few petals on that step! :-)
    dsc_0303.jpg

Love this moment. It gives me the chills.
    dsc_0339.jpg

First kiss as husband and wife! They had a beautiful chuppah.
    dsc_0413.jpg

This may be my favorite of the day. So sweet!
    dsc_9574.jpg

    The engagement ring.
    dsc_0470.jpg

The wedding bands... only fitting it is on one of the butterflies from the chuppah.
    dsc_0505.jpg

The ballroom at the Sagamore looked amazing.
    dsc_0548.jpg

Michael's parents during the hora. Love this!
    dsc_7571.jpg

Danielle and her father... so sweet.
    dsc_7758.jpg

The dream team... well, maybe. Jon Zander (left) was gracious enough to be our assistant for the day. (He's still working on that site, aren't ya, Jon?) ;-)
    dsc_7915.jpg

Thanks again to Danielle & Mike and all of your family! It was a wonderful weekend. I can't wait to see the album.

This Friday, I leave for a short weekend in Baltimore for an e shoot and Rachel & Justin's wedding. I may need Monday to recoup from all the travels, but we will have a few blog posts for you next week!

Danielle and Mike - Through Chris’ eyes

    *
    * We had so many great pictures from this wedding that we decided to split it into two posts. Today's will be from Chris showing all of the images he captured and tomorrow will be Rae's. Happy viewing! **

    From Chris:
I had the pleasure of helping Rae photograph Danielle & Mike's wedding at the Sagamore this past weekend and it was a blast! Here are a few of the images that I captured.

Even I knew that these were nice shoes. :-)

    dsc_6520.jpg

    Beautiful Monique Lhuillier dress.

    dsc_6543.jpg

I saw this moment and loved how it just set the scene for the bride getting ready. All of Danielle's friends had come into the room and were just hanging out with her while she got ready.

    dsc_6555.jpg

Danielle and Mike saw each other before the ceremony began.

    dsc_6660.jpg

One of the best parts about second shooting is that the subjects usually don't know that you're taking a picture of them. This can really make for some great portraits.

    dsc_6770.jpg

The whole bridal party was hanging out in this room before the ceremony and the light was money.

    dsc_6821.jpg

I grabbed this one while Rae was distracting Danielle.

    dsc_6918.jpg

Just as the doors were opened so Danielle and her dad could walk down the very long center aisle they were both so excited. So were most of the other hotel guests watching.

    dsc_7116.jpg

I also grabbed this one just as the doors were opened. I guess the flower girl was wondering what the heck I was doing.

    dsc_7129.jpg

This is one of my favorites of the day because of how it sets the scene as Danielle walks down the aisle. I had a feeling it would be a good one right when I took it.
    dsc_7199.jpg

    Their first dance.

    dsc_0698.jpg

    Their second dance :-)

    dsc_0816.jpg

I took this while Danielle was giving a toast to her Dad. Just after finishing the toast she asked her dad to dance.

    Father and daughter

    dsc_0976.jpg

    dsc_0985.jpg

I got a nice portrait of Dani and Mike towards the end of the night.

    dsc_1636.jpg

I had a great time guys! Thank you for the pleasure of allowing us to be a part of your day!

    Chris
