You are invited!

am FINALLY spending my first day working in the new office!! ...which means... We are about ready to open the doors to our friends, clients and other wedding vendors! Our hours will be by appointment only since my schedule is so inconsistent, so if you hope to stop by, you may want to call first just to make sure I am there. Then again, you can always peek in the side window to see if I am in my office, and as long as you don't creep me out, I will let you in. Otherwise, I may just draw the blinds. ;-) haha!

Seriously, though, I am hosting an opening reception for the new gallery space. Most of the formal invitations were mailed out yesterday. But, if you are reading this, you are invited (with or without a formal invitation). The reception is on Wednesday, September 12 from 5-9pm. I will also have the gallery open from 9am-5pm the very next day (9/13) for anyone that misses the reception but wants to just drop in to see the place. The reception will be catered by Nicole Buckley from Fruitful Seasons Catering, so I would really appreciate it if you could call or email me if you plan on attending just so I know how many to expect. Our phone number has changed from 523.6401 to 523.6452, but for the next day, neither will be working. Please, call my cell phone if you need me. I am absolutely serious when I say that all clients (past, present or future) are invited, as well as ANY and ALL raebarnes.com fans! (this includes YOU, even if I have never met you) We hope to see you there!

Zend Optimizer not installed

orry, guys... It is not you, its me. ;-) The online proof gallery suddenly is having some issues with our host. So, no one will be able to view the proof gallery (myself included- even to view orders placed in the last 3 weeks)... everything is kind of on hold in that regard. We hope to resolve this as soon as possible, but with it being a busy Labor Day weekend, the soonest possible time may be early next week. Thank you for your patience!

Mel+Sadie=BFF

o... yesterday, I had the honor of accompanying my dear friend Mel as she went to New Hampshire to pick out THE puppy (aka "Sadie") she will be bringing home in just 3 weeks! I just HAD to bring my camera for such an occasion. These silver lab puppies were so dang cute... just 5 weeks old. Anyways, Mel picked out her new roomie. Sadie is such a stud (well, obviously, not in the literal sense). I am sure that she and Baxter are going to get along perfectly. It will just be fun to see Sadie grow to be MUCH bigger than our lil guy. Well, enough gabbing... happy viewing!

Tracy & Bob - Hoosick Falls, NY

esterday afternoon, I made the trek down to Hoosick Falls (near Saratoga Springs/Albany area, but not really near anything ;-)) for an engagement session with Tracy and Bob. From the first time I spoke to Tracy, I just knew she needed some really special images of her pony. I am pretty sure my willingness to come down there to Higher Grounds Farms was a qualifying factor when they decided to hire me for their November wedding at Glen Sanders Mansion. Ha! :-) I was so happy to do this for them; it was a special place for Tracy and Bob alike, especially since they got engaged there!! Fortunately, we had a beautiful day, in spite of the forecast.

Amy & Kevin - Ogdensburg, NY

n Monday evening, Chris and I drove out to Ogdensburg to meet up with Amy & Kevin at their friends' home for their engagement session during a beautiful sunset on the river. It was well worth the long drive- great company and great light (what more could a photographer ask for?!). This couple are just the kind of people I just instantly clicked with. Amy just makes me laugh constantly. (No, you are DEFINITELY not a boring person, Amy- in case you were still wondering from our conversation). ;-) I can't wait for the big day next May... wait, I just rhymed. hmm... anyway...

I am starting out with a posey posey one... Don't usually do that, but this just seemed to be one of those images that everyone (yes, probably grandma) is going to love of them- especially because it is showing off Ogdensburg's "claim to fame:" the bridge to Canada!
