Album Orders due by October 1 |

H ello there! This post is a general announcement to all of my clients...
Album orders MUST be placed by Monday, October 1 in order to receive them by the holidays. This means that you must have either your deposit or your full payment for your album in by Monday- obviously if it was built into your package you just need to place the order for what you want. Final design approvals will need to be done by Monday, October 22.
Please, email me with any questions or concerns. |

A s you all know, I was accepted into the highly exclusive WPJA (Wedding Photojournalists Association) this summer. Well, the WPJA holds quarterly competitions for their members, and while I didn't win a single award in their competition (probably because I vignette all of my images and any manipulation is frowned upon), I did win 12th place in their Artistic Guild competition for Getting Ready images! Although... the 11th place image was disqualified, so I am wondering if I am technically 11th now. ;-)
Here is how they describe what they are...
The Artistic Guild of the Wedding Photojournalist Association [AG]WPJA is a group of international wedding photojournalists, who capture unscripted wedding moments as they happen, and excel in the art of post-production image processing. The [AG]WPJA is a division within the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA); one which specifically promotes Fine Art Wedding Photojournalism.
The [AG]WPJA is more exlusive than the WPJA. First, you must be a member of the WPJA, then you must win an award with the Artistic Guild in order to become part of it. Currently, there are only 12 other members in New York state.
Here is the image that won! (from Alyse & Simon's wedding)
Judges Comments: Oh my gosh -- a groom! Simple, quiet moments like these help to round out the story of the day for your client. Thanks to the photographer who takes a little time away from the bride to document her soon-to-be husband's day as well. Bring down the hot spot on his forehead, not too much though, it provides a good entry point into the image. |

Allison & Brent - Glimmerglass Opera House |

Y esterday, Chris and I had the honor of sharing the day with Allison & Brent as they celebrated their new marriage! Allison & Brent were married at the Glimmerglass Opera House in Cooperstown, NY in spite of the indecisive weather (mostly chilly, some sun, some rain, who knows what was going on?). They really had such a beautiful wedding that was, simply put, full of joy and laughter. They were just so fun! Alli never stopped laughing (this shows in just about ALL of the images we captured). Chris and I are about to celebrate our 2nd anniversary tomorrow, so I didn't have a TON of time to devote to looking through the images... but I definitely had a hard time narrowing down my favorites of the ones I saw... happy viewing!
I really love this image in the trolley!
Brent, before the start of the ceremony... might add, this is one of the few we got of just him without him flexing or making a funny face! (He was a riot)
Allison was laughing at Brent's comments about being in a hammock... sure, why would a bride and groom naturally be hanging out in a hammock?! :-)
Right after a posed shot, I grabbed this one...
Their cake topper was so fun!
And their cake was more delicious than it was beautiful... And, I don't like cake... carrot cake and pound cake are the only ones, really (okay, not going to lie, I will definitely not turn down a really good chocolate cake either!)
I know that I don't usually post tons of detail shots like the cake and the rings, but I loved getting creative with their rings on Brent's classic Pontiac that he has had since he was 14! (This one is obviously just on the top of the car where rain had collected).
Okay, this is obviously NOT his car, but the flowers were ON his car... that counts, right? ;-)
Hope you like this one, Brent!!
Have a great honeymoon in Hawaii! |
