The Frantz Family - Lake Placid |

O n Monday (yes, I am behind on blogging), I went out to the Frantz' property in Lake Placid to photograph the family of Mimi Frantz, event coordinator extraordinaire. I'm not sure if you remember, but I photographed the newest addition to their family back in December- Trey... he certainly has grown!! He's lost that dark hair and is now sporting blonde locks like his brothers.
Anyway, I really had a wonderful time getting to know the whole family. And, I would like to go on the record saying, just to make Mim feel better, that it is not uncommon for parents to leave a session with me and wonder if I grabbed anything worthwhile. With kids, I really try to get a feel for their personalities and whether or not they want me to play with them or just let them be... usually, I just let them be (with a few brief moments of getting attention or trying to get everyone together). I have found that I get more natural images this way, that they will end up doing things that they always do or playing in ways they always play... instead of me telling them how to play or what to do to get what I want. So, every session is a surprise for me. And no matter how "uncooperative" a kid is (haven't had any yet that just scream when they see my camera- haha), it all seems to work out in the end.
With that said, Mim, I love your boys and would've photographed them all night if I had had the time. There isn't enough blog space to put all the pictures up that made me smile or giggle. So... happy viewing!
we started out at this pond that is very special to the Frantz family... with the two boys fishing. It definitely is fall! check out the colors in this shot. Love it!
i really enjoyed watching them fish... one of the cutest things ever, especially this lil guy.
he was so careful to make sure he wouldn't hook me when he was casting the line. :-)
and then, Trey! I think he thought I looked hungry. haha!
ends up someone else was hungry!! :-D
just playing with the net... trying to catch my camera.
my attempt at this shot was not the usual success, but I love it even more because it is atypical. It reminds me of what my mom always said about trying to get the four of us to behave in pictures- umm... that it doesn't really happen (at least not without sweat and tears)
The full shot. Love this!!!
The close up... LOVE it even more!
So, the Frantz boys are apparently happier when they are upside down. Who knew?
REALLY love the flare on this. Of course, Trey waited to give his big smiles until the end.
Okay, this blew me away. This kid is only THREE years old!!! And, it just so happened that the day of our shoot was the first day that he rode his bike WITHOUT training wheels!! I think I was about 12 when I made that move (no, not really, but honestly!!).
Thanks so much guys! Loved hanging out and meeting you all. And for those brides that need some help with their weddings... Mim is accepting weddings now for 2009! :-) |

I am such a bad blogger... I meant to do this post on Monday, the first official day of Fall, but since I didn't, that means that there are a few more posts backed up for tomorrow and sometime this weekend. Anyway, we had about a million visitors this summer... starting with Chris' grandparents and parents, then going to my mom and grandma, then my dear friend Mel and her boyfriend, then my dad and step-mom, then our friends Zach & Aileen, and lastly my younger brother Daniel (right before he went out to sea for 6-8 months with the Navy). Anyway, I really only have pictures of my family and my friend; I am so bad, I know it. Please, don't be offended Barnes' and Weiks. ;-)
So... here goes the pictures I grabbed and a few from Chris and our friend Marshall... this was our summer!
Baxter came into the summer SERIOUSLY needing some grooming... here he is BEFORE.
And AFTER! yay! you can see his cute eyes!
My beautiful mom in downtown Burlington- love it there!
Four generations of ladies... grandma, mom, me and our unborn baby girl.
My beautiful friend Mel... she doesn't always have the Donald Trump look with her hair- that was courtesy of the speed of the parasail boat. haha!
I love this one of Mel and her boyfriend Hampton!!
Dang, my husband is hot... oh yeah, he is parasailing Mel & Hampton- don't you see them??
Awh, Mel... why did you have to move away?! love her!
Okay, so my brother-in-law Tim (or Timmy as I so lovingly call him) was not technically a visitor this summer... instead, he worked at the Young Life camp doing the videos for the whole summer.
My step mom, Kim... the blurry one is my dad. haha!
I love the Young Life camp (where Chris works)... it so beautiful!! And, that boathouse is where Chris proposed to me, so I especially love this picture.
Chris grabbed this shot of me as the sun was setting. (I guess I can have my picture taken about once a year- haha!)
My dad is super strong... holding up this boulder in the Ausable Chasm.
So, when my youngest brother (of my 3) Daniel came, we took him wakeboarding since it was so warm... well, this was the best shot I got from his wakeboarding skills. haha! It WAS his first try, though. And, I can't say anything because I never have tried... successfully gone 4 summers here without trying (me and water sports don't mix).
I think Daniel may have been a wee bit nervous about the whole parasailing experience. I mean, honestly, who tells a pregnant lady that there is only ONE knot holding us up 300 ft in the air?!?!
If you remember, I have a shot of Chris cliff diving the day we found out we have a girl... well, here is my brother's landing. :-D
I am so glad we had so many summer visitors!! But, now I am really excited for fall (my favorite season up here). Three more weddings to go, quite a few photo shoots, tons of albums to process and then... time to nest with that nursery!!! Happy Fall everyone!! |

L ots of text this week, I know, but we are off on vacation! And, conveniently, Chris' birthday is the same week is our anniversary. So, we are celebrating him today! The love of my life. I can't imagine life without him, nor do I want to. Chris is the most amazingly patient, wise, fair, talented, intelligent, kind, gentle and strong man I have ever known... not to mention, he is super easy on these eyes. I can't get enough of this man! And, I know he will be the best dad in the world; our kids will be the luckiest to have him. I could go on and on, but today is Chris' day... so, I am off to celebrate with him! Here are a few pics I have captured of him in the past few weeks of summer...
Such a stud!
Happy Birthday, my love!! I love you more than words could ever describe. |

T oday, we celebrate our third anniversary. I can hardly believe it has already been three years from that day that we started our lives as husband and wife. Chris and I had a whirlwind romance leading up to September 17, 2005. Our first date was just a year and eleven days before we got married. We dated for seven months, during which time Chris accepted his current job here in Saranac Lake and we both moved from Colorado to here. We were then only engaged for five months. Hard to believe we were able to pull it off so quickly, but we did it. It was beautiful, but most importantly, it was the first happiest day of my life... followed by many many more. Every day I fall more in love with my husband than the day before.
I know you may be curious to see our own wedding photos... well, we are STILL on our photographer's site in his portfolio; not exactly our favorite images but still images of us nonetheless. So just click here, go to the wedding galleries and we are under "Tasha & Nathan." :-) Not sure why he didn't use our real names, but that's what it is. haha!
I hope all of our clients are enjoying the Anniversary "gift" of a deal we have offered to you! |

Bridget and Chris - Point O Pines |

U nfortunately, another short post... our babymoon is calling me, and I need to get out of the studio ASAP. So, lots of pics to enjoy, but little commentary. We did have a great time, and we absolutely LOVED all the details that Bridget spent countless hours putting together. The wedding took place at Point 'O Pines, which is an upscale girls camp. It was a beautiful location, and we loved the bride and groom's energy throughout the day. Congrats you guys! And, happy viewing!
fun details that I love!
married!
(Chris' shot, my hubby, that is)- love it!
Right after we were done with the family formals, Chris swept Bridget off her feet!
One sweet moment.
Chris' shot... so cute!
Another one of Chris' (he was on FIRE!)... Bridget and her grandmother laughing at cocktail hour.
While Chris grabbed that shot, I took care of the rings. This is my favorite from the day.
First dance. Love this!
And then the party started, and man, was it a party! Some 300 guests enjoying every minute on the dance floor! It was packed!!!
Chris and Bridget are great dancers.
Congrats again! I am off! Don't forget about our Anniversary Sale! We will try to post on the blog some while we are gone, but no promises. ;-) Kristin will be in and out of the studio to take care of any immediate questions. Otherwise, I will be back next Monday. Have a great week! |
